From Comcast SPORTSNET:
Former NFL player Sam Rayburn is facing drug-related charges in his Oklahoma hometown.
The 28-year-old Rayburn was charged Tuesday in Grady County District Court with two felony counts of obtaining or attempting to obtain a controlled substance by forgery or fraud.
According to court papers, prosecutors are alleging that Rayburn presented forged prescriptions to try to obtain Percocet and Lortab, which are addictive painkillers.
Rayburn was arraigned on Tuesday and is free on $2,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for June 24.
The Grady County court clerk’s office said Rayburn does not yet have an attorney, and attempts to reach Rayburn at his Chickasha home Wednesday were not successful.
Rayburn played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2003 to 2006.
Are you people hearing me yet? (-Ed.)

Mr. Yuk means no!
According to the Web site kidshealth.org, a recent study has found that adult prescription painkillers are responsible for poisoning thousands of children each year.
The study found that:
The average age of the kids taking the meds meant for adults was 2.
Nearly all of the medications were prescribed for an adult in the household.
Most (92%) of the medications were ingested by children at home.
According to the article, which quoted a recent study from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center-Denver Health, “researchers found that more than 9,000 kids ingested a prescription painkiller—mostly hydrocodone (Vicodin) and oxycodone (OxyContin), and with horrible results: eight deaths (every one a child under the age of 3), 43 life-threatening or debilitating illnesses, and 214 moderate but not deadly effects.”
